This is the first release of the Inq codebase. It was under active development from 19 January 1999 to 24 August 2003. This codebase was derived from ROM, and is held to all licensing agreements pertaining to ROM, Merc and Diku. It's official derivative heirarchy is: Diku --> Merc 2.1 --> Rom 2.4 --> Inq 2.5 The Inq codebase was proprietary in nature, and underwent numerous version updates before acheiving the 2.5 status. Development of this codebase ceased in August of 2003, although numerous bugs still exist. It is no longer maintained, and bugfixes will need to be posted with word of mouth. The authors of this codebase - Bazarov, Binky, Ejer and Robbert - remain active within the MUDding community, but have new projects they are working on, and do not maintain an active repository of this code, therefore cannot maintain upkeep of it. Release of this codebase was approved by Tamara, the driving force of the Inq codebase, in October 2004. It's use is subject to the licensing as outlined in the file inq.license, contained within this directory. Further, use of this codebase must be approved on a case-by-case basis. To utilize this codebase, you must send an email to: robbert@theinquisition.net requesting permission to utilize the codebase. Within the email, you must include your registration name and the IP address of the machine you intend to run the codebase on, as well as a valid mailing address.
